Lister’s Farm Shop was set up in order to connect Lister’s Farms and everything it produces directly with its customers. It has been run by Grace Lister, third generation of the family, since October 2014 and employs 10 people alongside Grace.
J.C Listers Farms was founded by Grace’s grandfather John Clifford Lister, who farmed potatoes, spring barley, wheat and sugar beet along with cattle and pigs. When he died in a tragic farm related accident, Grace’s father David (then only 13 years old) and his brother Richard helped their mother to carry on the business with the assistance and advice of their three uncles Joe, Robert and Will, and over the years they developed J.C Lister Farms into the substantial business it is today. The Lister’s keep a herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle, flocks of Dalesbred, Masham and Mule sheep and run a large pig breeding outfit. With an arable enterprise of oil seed rape, potatoes, wheat, barley and sugarbeet.
